Novomet was included in the list of critical businesses approved by the Government Commission on Improving the Sustainability and Development of the Russian Economy on March 20, 2020. According to the decrees of the president of the Russian Federation and the head of the region, Novomet is a critical business that will remain active despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Novomet continues to ship products and deliver services. All production sites are fully operational with personnel who are assigned work as needed to fill orders. Robotic equipment and automated processing lines help minimize the number of people needed to maintain production.
We currently have no restrictions on shipping and logistics, enabling us to access raw materials and deliver finished products to customers. With the active assistance of the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade, we and all our key suppliers have received the work permits necessary to continue to conduct business.
The safety and health of our employees and our partners remains a top priority. We follow all the recommendations of the health authorities and are taking measures to prevent the spread of infection. Most office personnel are working remotely. Necessary meetings are held using conference call and remote computer meeting technology. We are committed to using available means and technologies to support the flow of business despite changing conditions.
As an international company, we are monitoring the situation in countries where we operate. We are enforcing preventive measures in each location. Regular employee updates are sent to communicate restrictions on movement, work, and quarantine conditions.
Novomet organized an operational headquarters for preventing the spread of COVID-19 on March 27. This team is charged with adopting appropriate organizational, administrative, and preventive measures. It is also our designated point of contact for interaction with authorities.
